Shaun the Sheep Movie is a 2015 British stop-motion animated adventure comedy film produced by Aardman Animations and based on the Shaun the Sheep television series, a spinoff of the 1995 Wallace and Gromit short "A Close Shave". The film was written and directed by Richard Starzak and Mark Burton. Financed and distributed by StudioCanal in the UK and Lionsgate in the USA, it was released in the United Kingdom on 6 February 2015 and on 5 August in the United States and Canada.
The film follows Shaun and his flock who head into the Big City to find the Farmer has developed amnesia as a result of their mischief, while also evading an animal control worker named Trumper. The film was widely acclaimed by critics who called it "Fun, absurd and endearingly inventive".
