Two of the supporting cast reprised their voice roles.

Animat's reception[]

Animat absolutely HATED this film and gave it his Seal of Garbage because it's another unneeded DTV film featuring wrestling (despite surfing and wrestling having literally NOTHING in common! Not to mention that there was hardly, if any, wrestling in it at all!) and as well as being a disgrace to the first movie from 2007 (which was the only pre-Spider Verse Sony film that Animat gave a positive reception to). He also cites the character derailment of the characters of the first film most notoriously Cody Maverick where he turns into a spiteful douchebag who only cares more about taking down his rival Tank instead of getting to meet his heroes (which was another problem because his hero was Big Z who was never mentioned in the film nor does he make a cameo.) Lackluster humor, bad jokes, downgraded animation and the gross scenes were also points of criticism such as the close-ups of the wrestler penguins muscles (while comparing the designs to Drake, the villain from Don Bluth's The Pebble and The Penguin) and the less said about the notorious "fish milking scene", the better. The only nice thing about the film was the surfing scenes which were seen as enjoyable unlike the rest of the movie. Animat even doubts that wrestling fans (whom this film was catered to) would even like this film alongside with the ones featuring Hanna-Barbera properties like Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones and The Jetsons.
